Before we refit the car audio, we often learn about the configuration packages of some audio retrofits, such as the two frequency division package, the three frequency division package, and the subwoofer package... But we still have a vague understanding of the role of speakers in various parts of the package, so today we will popularize the classification of car speakers and the characteristics of various speakers for all car owners.
According to the speaker frequency, speakers are classified into full frequency speakers, tweeters, mid-range speakers, woofers and subwoofers.
1. Full frequency horn:
Full frequency loudspeaker is also called broadband loudspeaker. Earlier, it generally referred to the loudspeaker that can cover the frequency range of 200-10000Hz as full frequency loudspeaker. In recent years, full frequency loudspeaker has been able to cover the frequency of 50-25000Hz. The low frequency of some speakers can be lowered to 30Hz. But unfortunately, although the full frequency speakers on the market are full frequency speakers, in fact, most of their frequencies are concentrated in the middle band, and their expressive power in bass and treble is slightly weak, so the sound they hear is relatively flat and the stereo sense is not so strong.
2. Tweeter:
The tweeter is the tweeter unit in the speaker box, which is used to replay the high-frequency signal (generally in the frequency range of 5KHz-10KHz) output from the frequency divider.
Because the main function of the tweeter is to express the exquisite sound, the installation position of the tweeter is very particular. If the installation position is not scientific when refitting the car stereo, the sound field effect will not be ideal. The tweeter should be installed at the same level with the human ear as far as possible, such as on the A pillar of the car, or above the dashboard, and some models are located on the door, so that the sound field is basically at the same level with the human ear, and the car owner can better experience the charm of music.
3. Mid tone horn:
The frequency response range of the mid-range horn is 256-2048Hz. The 256-512HZ listening feeling is powerful; 512-1024HZ is bright when listening; 1024-2048HZ is bright when listening.
The main performance characteristics of the mid-range loudspeaker are that the voice is lifelike, the tone is clean, powerful, and the rhythm is strong.
4. Bass horn:
The frequency response range of the woofer is 16-256Hz. Among them, 16-64HZ feels deep and shocked when listening; 64-128HZ feels rich while 128-256HZ feels full.
The bass horn is mainly characterized by a strong sense of shock, majestic and powerful, plump and deep.
5. Subwoofer:
The subwoofer refers to a loudspeaker that can emit 20-200HZ low-frequency sound. Usually, when the energy of the subwoofer is not very strong, it is difficult for people to hear it, and it is difficult to distinguish the sound source direction. In principle, the subwoofer and loudspeaker work in exactly the same way, except that the diameter of the diaphragm is larger and the speaker used for resonance is added, so people will feel shocked when hearing the bass.
It can be seen that the classification of speakers is not determined by the size of the sound emitted by the speakers and their original size, but by the frequency it emits. Moreover, speakers in each frequency band have different performance characteristics, and we can choose the sound we want according to our likes and interests.
